Every once in a while a Newport store will come along that stirs my creative spirit. The front window at Wald and Sea instantly caught my eye during a drive down Spring street.
Dreamy (and sometimes lazy) Newport summers have me inviting in all types of inspiration. There’s nothing more that I love than to browse, shop, goggle over beautiful objects, a then bring my picks home to share and use while I entertain the ones I love.
During the summer months I find myself dressing down and opting for a casual straw bag. Wald and Sea had a vast selection that certainly fit the bill. I welcomed a new dress and tote into my collection. Not wanting to enjoy the delicious goods just for myself, I also picked up an accessory for a friend. From glassware, to stoneware, to an eclectic mix of kitchenware, anyone passionate about entertaining will surely find something to treasure from this unique shop.
Taking inspiration from the store’s stylish atmosphere, I was able to use some of my picks in a fun staging project at a sales listing of mine in Middletown. Wald and Sea expertly blends a European style with coastal New England. Their creamy neutral pallet mixed with pops of ocean blues was well replicated at my listing, making a stark mudroom instantly feel more like home.
Store owner, Kim Wald has done a beautiful job curating and styling Wald and Sea. She brings to coastal Newport a global flair that we can all enjoy and indulge in.
